Pet ID tags

Pet ID tags are the most reliable way to reunite a lost pet with its owner, which is why they are used for dogs and cats of all breeds and sizes. They are especially important for large dogs, which people are rarely willing to take in while the owner is being found. A tag engraved with the pet’s name and the owner’s phone number and address means you can be contacted straight away.

A pet tag must above all be durable: a dog or cat will rub against trees and bushes and roll on the ground. Plastic or leather tags with handwritten details on an insert are a poor choice – pen or pencil fades, washes out and is easy to overlook. And a tag hidden on the inside of a large dog’s collar may never be found at all. The main requirements for a pet ID tag are:

• visibility
• mechanical strength
• the ability to keep the information legible for a long time

Metal tags made of aluminium or special steel with laser-engraved text meet all of these. Our tags are up to 2 mm thick, so bending, chewing or otherwise damaging them is practically impossible. Neither aluminium nor the jewellery-grade 316L steel we use corrodes, so an engraved tag will last for years.

After engraving, steel tags are polished to a mirror shine so that they are easy to spot from a distance and can be read without taking them off the collar. Aluminium tags are not as shiny, but they come in bright colours that are impossible to miss.

You can choose an engraved tag in three sizes to suit your pet – from a small kitten to a large German Shepherd. Elongated rectangular tags suit large breeds, and a soft silencer keeps the tag from jingling on the collar.
